Updated October 6, 2017 - 12:23 am

Southern California native Melissa Ramirez is among the victims killed in Sunday’s shooting at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival, her alma mater confirmed on Tuesday.

Ramirez, 26, graduated from California State University, Bakersfield, in 2014, with a degree in business administration.

“We are terribly saddened to learn that we lost a member of our CSUB family in this senseless act of violence,” university president Horace Mitchell said in a statement issued Tuesday afternoon. “Our entire CSUB campus community is heartbroken, and we send our deepest sympathies to Melissa Ramirez’s family and friends.”

The university lowered flags on campus to half staff this week to honor Ramirez and the other victims of Sunday’s shooting.

According to Ramirez’s Facebook page, which had been turned into a remembrance page, she was from Littlerock, California, and lived in North Hollywood.

Family members had set up a Gofundme page to help fund burial arrangements and other needs. The memorial fund had already topped its $10,000 goal as of 4:15 p.m. Tuesday.
